Hello, It's Me

What better way to help me get back into the groove of "Hennessey Hits" then to help me get to one of Adele's shows in NYC. Because of the saying, "You can't win if you don't play", I am trying my luck at some last-chance radio tickets. I know how this works via my days at Entercom, and believe it could happen to me. The "Package"

Hennessey children, whether in the direct family or a product of one, love the spotlight. My niece Sawyer is living proof. At the age of 3 she is mastering the art of music videos in the car...something she clearly gets from "Crazy Aunt Lacey". She's a pro with an iPhone, too, so watchout Snapchat! The icing on the cake to this musical gem is the squeaky voice at the end asking if she can send a "package" through the video to her daddy. Love her! I only hope these performances make it to T-Swift!

Bang Bang

"Bang Bang" - not a fan at first, but it's growing on me, and for some reason today I can't seem to get enough. #CrunkCardio is tonight, and I might just have to place a special request.

Blurred Lines

A little rain never hurt anyone. Or in this case put a damper on the Black Keys and Flaming Lips concert. With a forecast of never ending thunderstorms I wasn't too sure how it would all pan out. The rain stopped just in time for our 2 party buses, seating 46, to travel to Simpsonville, SC for the outdoor show. Regardless of the occasional mud pit and intense line to enter the place, it was a success. I don't believe we lost anyone - and its been a day or two so you'd think I'd hear by now, and as far as I'm aware the buses were left in great condition, too. Overall a big win. Not so much for my rainbow flip flops. Those might be chalked up for a loss. Come Saturday I was ready to do it all over again. That is after staying in bed until Noon and following it up with a brief nap at 2p. The 3rd Annual Swanson Summer Fest party was upon us and I wasn't going to let anything get in the way. All you can eat and drink for $25 that goes to a good cause. This year the money raised goes towards supporting Greenville's Cancer Survivor Park and Brianna Webster, a local teenager who has been battling pancreatic cancer and injuries sustained in a recent car accident in which she also lost her father. A terribly sad and touching story. The turnout to the party was phenomenal and it's great to know that we possibly made Brianna's road a little easier. I applaud David and the rest of the guys who helped throw this years shindig. As well as the few they throw each year. Not only are they fun and well put together, but they manage to help someone in the community. It's always legit - Mustache March, and Swanson Festival of Lights. I could go on and on about Saturday and how great it was, but I thought a visual may be better than my words. Cheers!

Bittersweet Symphony

I tend to do this to myself. When I make a "life change", I don't just make one, I make a few. I'll end up being one of those people that gets married, buys a house, and moves all in one weekend. Just wait. I'm pretty close to those now, besides the whole married part...it's safe to say I've got some time for that, but that's another blog post saved for a rainy day. Today, I'll share the bittersweet melody of what April has to bring. Definitely more sweet than bitter, however with all change, there's always something you'll remember and miss from the past. Last week I announced my departure and two week notice from my Entercom Radio family. My first real and "big girl" job out of college, they took me in and what I have learned from within these walls is astounding. Sure I've learned a lot from the sales, programming, and my own promotions department, but it's the beautiful office and social politics I'll really miss. The people characters I've gotten to work with over the past 3+ years have made this place what it is for me. Sure, I'll miss the concerts, meet and greets with celebrities, and of course free tickets, but it's some of the relationships I've made I'll miss the most. Luckily Greenville is a close knit town and my new title as an Event Planner will possibly maintain some of these (even working) relationships. You just always know its not 'the same'. To think back at some of the crazy/stupid things I got to do at my job - - it nuts! Not gonna lie, I've already shed a tear or two about leaving, and I'm sure the drive away on Friday won't be any easier. Though it's extremely bitterSWEET. I am thrilled to be joining a great company in downtown Greenville, with a great group of people, and wonderful opportunities. It's exciting and I'm ready to start something new come April 1st.

Speaking of out with the old, and in with the new. I'm also peacing out of my 1960's 1 bedroom flat and moving in with my married friend Lauren and her precious golden retriever, Walker. I know I said, I would never move again, but her husband is off doing a work project over seas for 1.5-2 years (with 8 week vaca returns) and offered me a deal to live in one of their many spare bedrooms with a full bath. It's a win-win for the two of us. Both on similar schedules, same kickball team/social agenda, and just overall similar personalities. I am looking forward to it. Plus, its a hop, skip, and a jump from downtown and my new place of work. BONUS! The bitter: I'm moving, AGAIN, and I'll of course miss Augusta Rd. The Sweet: I'm still close to everything and well, all of the above. 

So I'll be moving again come 2014/2015 - who knows what life will look like then. Kind of weird and fun to think about.

Oh...and sadly...this may just be Dora's final year. Talk about the definition of bittersweet.

All In A Days Work

One thing I love about my job is that no day is the same. In fact, I never know what hair brained idea someone is going to ask me to join in on for a viral video or what commercial copy I may have to voice. The on-air spot for IBS was a real doozie. Thanks, Greg. You can't take yourself too serious around my office, which is nice, because most of the time I'm either in on the joke or the brunt of it. For example, being the holiday season, during lunch one day I decided to wrap a friends cubicle while they were out sick. It may sound worse than it was. Zack is the prankster in our office and I knew he could handle it. Besides, what's better than coming back to work than receiving one giant WELCOME BACK package. He loved it, because 1) Zack secretly loves the attention and 2) three years ago I wrapped his cubicle in tin foil for his 30th birthday, which he also loved. I know because he kept it like that for days. I think he was almost impressed. Though I did have a little help that time. I had gotten the idea originally from when we (myself and a bunch of friends I lived with in the OBX of NC) dominated a roommates room while they were at work one day. Sorry Julian, but you too also know you just couldn't be mad, but more mesmerised by the shine of your belongings.

So at my office when someone has the chance to get someone like Zack, or myself, "back" everyone flocks at the chance to be a diversion. This week I didn't so much as receive revenge, but more so was just asked to partake in a few fake meetings, that at the time I thought I was being really helpful, or part of one of those viral videos I mentioned. One of our stations, Magic 98.9, is currently playing all Christmas music. The below video was supposed to be for the station, but now it is just for nothing. So what I thought was once possibly, somewhat, of maybe, a proportional importance is now Keaira and I pathetically attempting to draw Christmas.  

Before that, we got called into a Music Meeting. Which is something that is real, and happens, but not often anymore. Basically you'll listen to new music about to hit the charts or that has just dropped and you tell someone what you think, yay or nay, etc. Keaira and I went upstairs again to listen, give our opinion, the whole 9. I guess we weren't there long enough because we had to return for our art lesson later. It was all for this. A cardboard cutout of our part-timer, Roy. Roy gave us presents this year as his own 12 Days of Christmas. Everything from taking us to lunch, to ornaments, to posters of himself. He is a real gem. Possibly off to Nashville to 'live the dream', he wanted to give us something to remember him by.....guess we got it. I love it! Hilarious.

On another note. Today is December 21st, and so far, the world hasn't come to an end. So we got that goin' for us, which is nice. Out tonight, David's party tomorrow to benefit Nick, along with a big birthday shout out to Bill Revson. Then, it's party time with the Hennessey clan. Merry Christmas!

Working at a radio station, you get the occasional delight of being used for a commercial or used for an on-air game. This past week I was a guest on 93.3 The Rise Guy's Morning Show for a game they like to call "Assword"....much like the old fashioned game show networks, Password. Each contestant gives a list of clues to their teammate to describe a word, however you can't use the word you are trying to describe. Simple enough. Then we are basically playing for a listener to win a pair of tickets. The last time I played, I paired  up with Paige and we killed it. This time not so much. Listen for yourself.

Jill G - Live @ Frankies

Ladies and Gents, allow me to introduce to you, Greenville's newest pop/country/anything-goes vocal star, my friend Jill. You can normally find her singing in the shower, her kitchen, at a party, in the car, downtown, or anywhere that she is standing...sometimes in front of a mirror or window reflection. Her influences are the great Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Carrie Underwood, and basically any diva vocalists that hits notes that most can't. Oh, but Jill Graves can. That's without a doubt. She hits them, and hits them hard. Occasionally they even seem to hit back. She has had a great support system though. Her roommate and vocal "coach", Lindsey, is by her side day by day, smiling and telling her "Mmmm yea, that sounds really good Jill". Words of encouragement from fans such as @ssuttles3, who Jill tells me is her biggest fan, help keep Jill's dream alive. If you have ever been around this vocal talent,  you know you are unable to keep the smile off your face. Literally you won't be able to stop laughing in utter disbelief of the amazing sounds coming from within her. It brings tears to Lindsey's eyes every time she goes for a big one. Recently Jill wanted to capture her audio in digital form. The end of the year kickball party was last night, held at Frankie's Fun Park. A business that provides non-stop fun and fills dreams of vast amounts of middle schoolers.....and one Clemson Graduate - Superstar Jill Graves. For those that don't know, Jill is a triple threat. Her dance moves on and off the field, have literally won the hearts of many. To quote Jill, "If I don't win best dance moves for the booty drop peekaboo then I quit", thus proving her determination in the act of wanting to become a true thespian.....not to be confused with lesbian. With talent like Jill's and her animated personality, who knows where she'll end up! My hope is Fords Oyster Bar for karaoke on Thursday nights, but that's just me. If I were a betting woman, which I am, I would say that there's a good chance. But back to Frankie's. Jill was lucky enough to find a booth in the arcade that charged a mere $5 to record one song of choice and in return are given a CD recording. Just her, a mic, the booth, and her dream. Jill was nice enough to let Lindsey, long time friend and coach, into the 'studio' with her, taking my camera along for video. The video footage could end up on E! True Hollywood Story one day, so consider yourself privileged....its an A Capella version, so please be kind. I was lucky enough to hear the final CD recording, along with die hard Jill Graves Fans, Beth and Micah, and we will say that the quality of the recording was spectacular. I got a fever...

...Bieber fever. And it's not going away. Justin Bieber's new album, "Believe", dropped yesterday and its pretty good. Very Justin Timberlake, but still very Bieber. Which is good since Justin Timberlake forgot he had a music career. At least we still have one of them.

I have made many of my friends "Beliebers" due to the amazing, entertaining, and most importantly informational documentary, "Never Say Never", and I would like to make you one, too. Here is how. Most people think Justin Bieber is a teen heart throb and nothing more. But did you know JB is fluent in French, plays the guitar, piano, drums, and is a killer dancer? Not only that, but he's been able to play since he was a toddler. I can't express to you enough the respect you will gain for this kid after watching the documentary. I will even let you borrow it. You don't have to tell anyone you are watching it, just watch it. I made my sister, Lindsay, into a Belieber during her visit to Greenville. She was extremely hesitant, but 10 minutes in, she silenced her phone so she couldn't be interrupted. My friend Monica and I have a crush on this young talent and we made her husband Mike watch. I really thought he would still tear it to shreds at the end of the hour documentary because of his prior feelings towards the Biebs, but even he, a non-fan, said "it wasn't bad" and that he didn't know 'he did all that stuff'. I'm telling you people, there is something about the Biebs.

My friend Pam and I got to go to his concert when touring through Greenville. Never have I ever heard screams as loud as this arena got. I can't even explain the octave the sound reached. Sean Kingston opened for Justin, and Pam and I didn't really know what to expect, but we knew we'd at least enjoy it. We went in, found our beer guy, got 2 a piece, and with just one phrase, turned into a 15 year old screaming girl. Sean Kingston said, "Who here.....knows Nicki Minaj?" With that, we of course thought she was surprising Greenville with a visit, so when he again said "I said...who here....knows....Nicki! Minaj!?", Pam grabbed my arm and we were like "OMG she's herrrreeee!!!". We fit right in. Of course, she then appeared on a digital screen over head and was not there, not even close, but it got us started. Let me tell you that Justin Bieber knows how to get those little girls (and I guess, Pam, Monica, and I) going. Intro-ing his songs with lines such as "Are there any lonely girls out there?" (the Song, "One Less Lonely Girl"), etc. He really thinks he's something, and as he should. If you watch the Today show on NBC in the mornings, you recently saw the effect he has on cities. It's incredible. Watch "Never Say Never". You don't have to like him, but I promise it will change your mind about him, one way or another.
One thing that probably won't change though......his body that resembles that of Elliot from the great American classic movie, E.T. Sorry Biebs but your skinny little bod will be like that for a while. He can look at the bright side though, more than half is fan base has probably never seen or heard of the 1982 movie.

@Only1Noah

YouTube sensation, Noah, came into the office today to perform for us. He was amazing. I first heard of Noah during part of my morning ritual, watching The Today Show on NBC. Matt and Ann were interviewing him, and when I heard he was from South Carolina my ears perked up.

Learning he was a senior in High School and from Greer (10 minutes down the road), I really started paying attention. It doesn't take much. This kid is a real talent...'His voice is like a combination of Fergie and Jesus'. Follow Noah on Twitter @only1noah. Or check out his YouTube channel HERE. He posts a new video each week, usually a cover, but his debut album will come out shortly. Loved his originals! I wanted to share them but since they haven't debuted yet, Noah asked that we not share them. I guess I am lucky to have gotten a first glance. Anyway, check out his YouTube channel.

Another favorite

Memory Lane, USA

Do you ever notice how some songs can take you back? Back to a distinct moment or memory. You might remember an exact moment when it was playing. For me, most of those connections are correlated to a great time, some not so much, but overall they relate to a good time. I love hearing someone say, "Oh man, this song reminds me when....". For example:

Def Leppard "Pour Some Sugar On Me" takes me back to my high school days wanting to be in the movie "Coyote Ugly". What high hopes and dreams I had for myself. Reaalll classy. But seriously, it makes me want to dance on bars to this day. Vegas, should I ever meet you, I plan to destroy you.

"Danger Zone" - duh. Top Gun. College. Aviators. And my dying wish to have hot men sing to me in the middle of a bar. Still a karaoke favorite to this day.

Speaking of karaoke. "Total Eclipse of the Heart" - my go to (the Old School movie version of course). I kill it. If you disagree, don't bother telling me. You're just lying to yourself. Trust.

Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up". This was my ring tone for a year in college. That ginger is a bad ass. Best worst music video, and that is exactly the reason it's so awesome. A classic in my opinion. Anyone that can rock denim on denim, red hair, and those dance moves deserves your attention.

50 Cents and Jeremih's "Down on Me" brings out the ghetto in me. At least I like to think so. I'm definitely no homegirl, but rapping to this song makes me want to jam, that, and ride around in Pamela's tricked out Mercedes. Picture a sweet Mercedes, unbelievably dark tinted windows, shiny rims, and verrry spacious leg room. Ballin! (could I be any more white?!?)

and what could make me think of riding through downtown Greenville with the windows down and music blaring more than one of our favs...."Look at Me Now" by Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, and Lil Wayne. Nothing makes me smile more than having people stare at us driving really slow in that car and having our friend Meredith duck down in the back in embarrassment. Man, the glory days.

"Lets Get Married" by Jagged Edge. This will always remind me of my sister Lindsay and her horrible dance move where she just points and shrugs her shoulders. But really its a gem that I now like to request at weddings. When a band knows it, I feel that I have struck gold. When it's a DJ you can count on them already having it and you know you become their favorite guest when you request it. Try it.

Prank Wars

In college we did a lot of pranking to our friend Rocky - @rakeshpatel254. What started it all was the idea to Post-it note his car. This was back when everyone used AOL Instant Messenger. Rocky and I lived in the same apartment complex so when I was outside his place vandalizing his car with friends, Hannah, Byrd, and Jillian, and he was inside studying/chatting on the computer with me, he had no idea where I really was. Got to love wireless internet. Rocky, an established and articulate student, was inside working hard and preparing for an accounting exam the next day. That in mind we left him a hole in the windshield. He didn't find out it was us for a few days.

Funny right? Well, they (as in, not even Rocky but his roommates) got me back by, what I feel was slightly inappropriate and not funny at all - - shoving hamburger meat, loaves of bread, and basically anything in their fridge into...... my mailbox. Yea, the postman HATED me and my innocent roommates for the rest of the year. It was disgusting and as best as it could be cleaned out, started to create mold. As revenge, Hannah and Byrd got "innocent" Rocky back. This was his room filled with tiny Dixie cups full of water. A pure delight to come home to. These pranks continued.

At B93.7, Kato from the Hawk and Tom Morning Show, decided he wanted to prank Heidi. His idea - post-it noting her car. I told him I was an expert and offered to help......



Twylah

Have you heard about this Twylah thing? I feel like it could be the "next big thing". It basically is a twitter brand page, but to me it seems like the mix between having a website and/or blog without having to do the posts/work.....maybe?
Celebrities and public figures seem really into it, so it appears.

On the left hand side of my blog you'll see a column where I suggest other blogs that I read sometimes, or at least like to bookmark. One of them is Chasemradio - or rather, Chase Murphy's guide to marketing/radio/life. It's a good read and pretty educational. Anyway, one of the guys he follows and reads books from is Greg Verdino, author of "Micro Marketing". I started to follow @gregverdino on Twitter and one of his posts was about Twylah. Curiosity lead my search and I came across Twylah.com. Tough find, I know.....If you have extra time and a Twitter account, go to the website, and request an invite. It literally takes zero effort and in return they accept the request, then set up your page. If I am being honest it doesn't seem like there is a point, but like half the social media sites you are probably on, is there a point to any of them? Personally, maybe not, but for your business or company, perhaps and most of the time, yes! Twylah organizes every tweet and posting you make into its own category, such as your videos, pictures, and then also goes by topic. For example, when I got mine back I realized I tweet about our station contesting, my blog, and surprisingly a few Justin's (I am assuming Bieber and Timberlake? How embarrassing) quite a few times. I have also mentioned my Hennessey In the Home site, too. As I just did again :) Anyway, my Twylah page can be found at http://www.twylah.com/Lhennessey . It basically in a nutshell shows what's trending on that particular page. Like I said, I don't really see where I may find a need for this site other than to see what I constantly talk about too much (like I don't already know), but perhaps in the world of marketing and advertising, it may be the next thing. I had my 10,000th hit on my blog about nothing this past weekend, and am already up to 10,200+ and haven't posted since. If it weren't for Twitter and Facebook, no one (with the exception of a few members of my immediate family) would probably have even seen it!

I used to be against Twitter, blogging, and my freshman year at college when Facebook was only for certain colleges, I was even against it (Thank you Meghan for changing my mind). But each time someone has involved me or given me a reason to start in a new trend, even when reluctant at first, I seemed to have dived right into the social media world. So where you may never hear of Twylah again, at least I brought it to your attention.....yea, that sounds good, right? Follow @chasemradio and @gregverdino to give you a better idea of where this is coming from......and at least check Twylah out.

Bunny you should say that!

In the spirit of the Easter holiday, this weekend we (B93.7) are doing a winning weekend/text-to-win contest entitled "Little Bunny Shoe Shoe". A few days ago Tias, WFBC's new Program Director, came down to the promotions office where Keaira and I work and started brainstorming ideas for a promo video. We knew we needed to use Buzzy the Bee, the stations mascot, and of course a Bunny. Me being Me and feeling the need to be involved, I volunteered to wear the rabbit suit. Roy, our intern, was forced to be Buzzy the Bee - - who lets just say has been worn one too many hot, sweaty days. Very stinky. Anyway, the idea was that Buzzy needs shoes and the Bunny could give him the gift card but he'd have to work for it....the idea and conversation led to a lot of inappropriate comments and 'scenes' for the video, but in the end this was the result.....so strange, but another day at the office. Life is tough.

I'm bringing a change of underwear...

...because I may very well pee my pants with excitement. To say that I love all kinds of music is an understatement, especially with my current profession being what it is. But throughout past years had someone asked me who my favorite band was, I wouldn't have the slightest clue - - mainly because I tend to like a few songs but never whole albums time after time. With the exception of recently. I am in love with The Fray. Any song, any album (if you couldn't already tell from the blog playlist). The obsession started on long, long, long (did I mention long?) road trips home and all over the East Coast in my 90's Volvo Station Wagon that sported an awesome CD player and one speaker blaring as loud as it could go (luckily on the driver side). Now, still on road trips, I love to keep the tunes going. Still The Fray, a little of The Script, and many more Hennessey Hits (which needs to be updated). I like their type of music, it's good "listening" music as weird as that might sound Do you know what I mean? Anyway, The Fray are part of our (B93.7) Acoustic Christmas Show happening this weekend. I'm pumped to say the least.

To add to the excitement my sister Lindsay and her friend/my non-related sister Dez (pictured on the left), are flying in Friday night and staying for the weekend. I'm treating them to the perks of the job while they are here, plus I can't wait to show them Greenville in general! Dez and Lindsay live in Baltimore and I keep telling them they need to get out of that concrete jungle and head south for the winter. Took a couple dates to throw around and a little bit of bribing, but I mentioned who was coming and how much I love the rates Southwest is offering these days, and there you go. 2 round trip flights to Greenville. As you can see Dez likes an alcoholic beverage just as much as the next guy (if not more) so we plan to booze it up a little while they're in town, too. Please feel free to join us.

T-Pains Apology

Remember when I told you I went to T-Pains house? No? Read this.


So in my post I said, "After a few songs, and a couple more drinks, a small group were possibly engaged in an outside conversation. At this point I will share with you that T-Pain is extremely passionate about his music, and that this album took him about 2 1/2 years to make, whereas his past work was only an average of 4 months. I'll leave it at that I guess, but the key word being 'passionate'."


His "passion" resulted in cutting off the 4th or 5th song half way through us listening to the album and going on a 3-5 minute rant about how this is his life and he invited us into his. f****ing. house. And that if you didn't want to talk about T-Pain that you should go outside, yada yada yada. There were a lot of f-bombs, hand gestures, and slaps to the granite bar counter top to get the point across. Then following up with 'since you weren't listening I guess we will have to start over' and started the entire album from the beginning again, introducing each song again, just like the first time. I can now share this with you because it turns out the other radio personnel there that night weren't so tight lipped as I kind of was. He sent out this apology today.

I didn't think that he went overboard that night, it was a little shocking and surprising, but mostly just uncomfortable and a little awkward for everyone in the room. I appreciate his apology and would welcome the chance to return to his home...Heineken in hand of course.

I Went to T-Pains House

No joke. It was legit. I have been meaning to blog about my experience at his house for a week or 2 now. I've been going back and forth about how I'd share the information with you and what I could actually tell you. From the get go we (@kacib937 and I) were told not to talk about it on-air, but that tweeting might be ok. I don't want to get banned from any experiences like this in the future, so forgive me if I leave out what might seem like crucial details.


You are probably wondering, why the hell were you at T-Pains house? Or if you are my parents you are wondering who the hell T-Pain is. Here are a few of my favorite hints for those of you who are unfamiliar....

Anyway, @Chaseb937 - aka Chase Murphy - on-air talent and PD for B93.7, and @KaciB937 - Kaci Kruz, on-air talent and Music Director for B93.7 were asked to attend a Listening Party at T-Pains in Atlanta. Chase declined and Kaci was intrigued and all about going. She got to take a friend. Kaci asked @JackieB937 and fortunately for me, she was unable to go. So it was some of the best sloppy seconds I have ever had the privilege to be haha. I was PUMPED. Our curiosity led to us googling what his home may look like. I came across a video of a group of strippers in one of the rooms in the basement.....sure enough I ended up partying in that room. Stripper free of course, but pretty posh. Leather couches, a few stripper poles, manikins undressing, an awesome open bar and the occasional spritz of fog machines. A few Heineken's later, our main man entered. Dressed in a relaxed outfit, he was modest, friendly, and looked me in the eyes - saying "thanks for coming" - when shaking my hand. I'd like to prove it but when getting picked up at a 'meeting point' in a VERY nice shuttle bus, pimped with flat screens and black leather, I was asked to leave any kind of phone or recording device in the car. I did, but the second time we were told, it was so intimidating I was wishing I left it at the hotel.....yea the one they set us up in. Nice stuff. Anyway, T-Pain introduced his new album that is soon to be released and told us a little about what it took to make it, who is on some of the tracks, etc. He went song by song, and I will say that the album is tight. Only a few songs have his go-to autotune settings. After a few songs, and a couple more drinks, a small group were possibly engaged in an outside conversation. At this point I will share with you that T-Pain is extremely passionate about his music, and that this album took him about 2 1/2 years to make, whereas his past work was only an average of 4 months. I'll leave it at that I guess, but the key word being 'passionate'. This man LOVES his album and LOVES the effort he put forth. Love what he does and show interest and he will love you back. I'd be happy to share more, but perhaps in a not so public setting. Regardless, it was awesome, he was super nice, had a bad ass 3 story home, and knows how to treat his guests.

Hennessey in the Home - - my somewhat of an art business - - will be there, too. I however will not be, but my good friends Lisa and Catherine have been gracious enough to volunteer in exchange for a painting of their own. Simple enough. Hopefully I will manage to sell some things because I am on the great quest to get to Australia to visit my friends Pam and Merrick. That takes money, and lots of it.
